Student Led Conferences
The week beginning on Monday, September 28th, all De Anza students will be scheduled to come to school to conduct a Student-Led Conference with their parent or guardian. During these meetings, students will present their current academic performance and share learning goals. We are proud to teach students how to communicate these important things with their parents/guardians, because this skill will support their success in high school as well. Remember, you always have the opportunity to communicate with individual teachers by using ParentSquare or calling the school at any time. The purpose of the Student-Led Conference is to help hold your child accountable for their school success.
Every student will be planning, preparing, and practicing their presentation in the week prior to this event. We want to teach our students to be responsible for their learning and for sharing this important information with you. Students must come to the conference with their parent/guardians.
Our school will have a Shortened Day schedule every day the week of September 28th to give teachers time to schedule their conferences for each student. The schedule for the school day during the week of September 28th will be from 8:10-12:55pm. If you cannot attend the scheduled conference, please be sure to reschedule your conference by communicating with your teacher.
Student-Led Conferences will be held in the WAT Center. Please enter through the WAT Center Gate. After entering the WAT Center you will receive your students progress report. Students will also present their Student-Led Conference presentation to their families and should bring their fully charged Chromebook to support their presentation. Families will have the opportunity to meet with their student’s teachers, ask questions, and receive clarification regarding their student’s academic progress. Our teachers and staff look forward to partnering with families and collaborating together to support each student’s continued growth and success.
